“Dear All,
We have been asked by the board of AGEPOR (Portugal) to circulate the
attached letter, issued by the operator of the main container terminals in
Lisbon.
In recent years, those terminals have been subject to many industrial
disputes that have significantly degraded the port’s container handling
performance compared to others in Portugal. The letter provides the background
to those disputes, their effect on container operations in Lisbon and, more
importantly, outline the measures taken recently by the terminal operator to
reduce the likelihood of strikes in the future.
