“Dear All,
With digitalisation being one of the factors that has assisted many of
us continue working and stay connected with friends and family in spite of
lockdowns and other restrictions, it is perhaps not surprising that attention
is now turning to driving forward digitisation of the ports sector. As a member
of the IMO Ports Group, coordinated by our colleague Patrick Verhoeven of the
International Association of Ports and Harbours, we and the other members have
today issued the attached statement that sets out our collective aspirations in
this regard.
The statement will be posted to our social media feeds and to the
website and we would encourage you to do likewise, as well as circulating it
directly to your member companies. Thank you in advance for your support in
this respect. The statement has also been sent to IMO with a request that it be
circulated to all member states.
Digitalisation is very much in the forefront of our thinking and
planning right now and news of another linked initiative will be circulated to
all members in the coming days.
