Dear All,
Following the recent launch of BIMCO’s Standard Mate’s Receipt form (details were circulated on 7th November, copy attached), we are hosting a joint webinar with BIMCO on the purpose, use and legal consequences and implications of completing the form on Wednesday, 13th March at 12.00 UK time. Lasting for about an hour, the webinar will comprise an introduction from BIMCO to the background and reasons behind the revision of the form, followed by insight from a ship agent on its practical use. Our colleagues at ITIC have also been invited to wrap up the presentations with guidance on the legal obligations of signing the form, the consequences of not doing so and the implications of the agent’s actions for the principal.
The webinar is free of charge and open to
FONASBA members, companies in membership of national associations and anyone
else that is interested. Further publicity, including details of the speakers
and the procedure for registering will be notified in due course, but in the
meantime, please save the date:
